Snap-n-go Mini wallet Hack

When I first started sewing, I sewed primarily for my daughter. I wanted to make her gifts that were handmade. This wallet pattern would make the perfect gift for your little ones, but I know alot of people prefer not to use leather when they are sewing for their children.

Here is a hack for you!

Materials:

First you will need my pattern: here.

  • Exterior Fabric: 1/4 yard of quilting cotton.
  • Interior Fabric: 1/4 yard of quilting cotton.
  • Interfacing: 1/4 yard of fusible fleece.
  • Pattern piece
  • Fabric scissors or rotary cutter.
  • Acrylic ruler

When cutting out the pattern pieces, you will cut out the exterior fabric the same size as the lining. Then follow the directions in the pattern skipping step 3.

For these kid wallets, I used plastic snaps. I prefer kam snaps. You can find them here.

They are super easy to use. I had quite a few people ask me about my table press. I have to admit, I purchased the press specifically for rivets. I could never hammer rivets correctly. Otherwise, I probably would have never got the press and continued to use the hand press.

Now, it saves me a lot of hand cramping when I am putting snaps on 100 wallets at a time!

It is definitely not necessary but definitely worth the investment if you plan on making a ton of things with snaps on them. I bought my table press here.

I hope you guys have fun making with this pattern! Make sure to tag me on instagram @manghammade using the hashtah #snapngowallet
